I really thought Gordon was going to impress me with his Focacciahere I have a great focaccia recipe for you https://youtu.be/Y7z9vY83Wlw
Is it just me, or did the thumbnail to this video look like Gordon put big spiders on his bread? The olives look like spider bodies and the baked rosemary looked like legs.
You are 100% correct! This is garbage, not focaccia!!! I use my Pugliese family recipe. It is fluffy and beautiful, and not dense and dry. Why does he do this? Che schifo! Gordon, why?!?! Perché?!?!
Quella roba (mi rifiuto di chiamarla focaccia) ti manda per almeno 48 ore al cesso.
The dough looks absolutely terrible. If I threw it at a dog, it would die! You wonder why they didn't show Gordon eating the bread cos it's not edible.
Sorry but at the first glance it looks like a bed of beetles
Vincenzo had to put vpn on as video is banned in uk due to copyright issues with channel who produced the programe. So a lot of uk viewers wont see video unless they have vpn.
Complete failure of focaccia 😊. It was not cooked at all. I am sourdough bread baker-just for me and my family, just regular wife and mom, and I am telling you, Gordon knows zero about the dough. Just zero, nul, nada….every step was the disaster😊😊😊
Way too thick!!
GR thinks he's the best. NOTHING he has ever done has impressed me and nothing he does makes me want to cook it. He's so overrated. Go back and learn how to cook from Vincenzo.
When he said to bake at 200 degrees… maybe he accidentally had it in fahrenheit…
Focaccia is not supposed to be crispy, and also, for a second, i thought he put bugs on it. Gordon Ramsey should leave Italian cuisine alone
Gordon Ramsay is a joke, overhyped loud mouth. That focaccia was uncooked. For Gordan to get those kind of views, shows the type of the crowd who click on his videos. Nothing to learn from him. Thank you Vincenzo for showing me how to cook. 🙂
That dry/wet dough looks pretty bad. I can make it better! The end product looks raw, the top looks like bugs climbed on it. Yuck 🤢
That's a big mess, it's everything wrong, raw,not rest enough and rested wrong, there's no way that rested wright, I've worked on a bakery on Brazil 4 a year, the Italian cheff of the bakery would rust ne up if i've made this mess, not even my 1st foccatia was that ugly, wtfk
Wish I had the money and time to ask Vincenzo to take me under his wing and train me in the exquisite art of Italian cuisine. So much to learn.😊
More like fakeoccia.
Dense and underdone.
The shade of it all😂.
My dream is to see the two of you go head to head, I'd love to see you crush him on a international scale💪🏼
Gordon è sopravvalutato… ha la superbia di modificare le cose senza informarsi a fondo
For whatever reason Gordon Ramsay has a mental block when it comes to Italian food. I have made some of his British deserts, cottage pies, they were very good. When it comes to Italian food Gordon Ramsay, and Jamie Oliver are the same, poor at best.
I love the “WHAT ARE YOU DOING GORDON !!!”, I would wear it on a T-Shirt ! Indeed, no more mistreatment of Italian cuisine by Gordon.
Never liked Gordon and that isn't like any focaccia I have ever made or had in Italy.
First, I am no Italian. Second, I am no foccacia expert by any means, nor pro chef. I am only amateur cook but sorry, I have to complain here. This dough looks soooo dry to me considering foccacia standards I know about. I made my best one on my 30th birthday when I did 50:50 flour to water ratio. The dough was very sticky and so hard to work with, but final product was so delicious that everybody mentions it until this day. Not like this one. This one doesn't look very fluffy. The mine one was having bubbles of kidney beans all over it. I don't want to seem arogant but this is so dissapointing knowing Gordon Ramsey standards. Looks like as if I was doing it for first time.
I agree… So much salt i feel like i might have a heart attack!
The focaccia should rest in the pan after the first opening. Structure is too tight.
And it is unbelievable Gordon thinks that it is cooked already, it's just white!
I'm sure he will mess it up.
Sorry but it looks covered in bugs. I thought it was a joke edit but no, he made it look like it is covered in bugs all on his own. Eat bugs and be happy Gordon.
In my mind CHEF Ramsey is King. I don’t know, Vincenzo. I’d have to hold, look, smell, and taste Chefs’ .!!!
@gordonramsay Love you Gordon but I am on Vincenzo's side here. I'm no baker but I could see from a mile away that that Focaccia was dense as hell and not cooked through. Vincenzo you the man!
As far as I know yeast does not hurt the stomach after its baked. The heat kills it
sorry vincenzo… have to disagree with you on this one. first off, the dough did look perfect, not look dry at all, as evident how fluffy it came out. at our Italian restaurant we also salt the bottom, which gives the focaccia a more even flavor. the error Gordon may have made is undercooking. temperature is important, especially to build a crust on top.
That focaccia is just horrible OMG … dense, half baked, half proofed, way way way … did I mentions way ? … too much yeast ! I use about 1.2g of fresh yeast (=0.4g of dry yeast) for 500g of flour … Hydration of ~85%
I bake focaccia regularly, even if I always have too high expectations on open crumb, each time I have a bite of mine, really love the result, sooo fluffy.
And now, after seeing this, I can say that I am a way way way better baker than Gordon … so my focaccia is super Michelin stars worthy, I guess LOL
Thank you for that, Vincenzo, this made my day 😀
Salt on the bottom and dry bread makes a crusty, dry bottom focaccia
I've learned so many valuable cooking tips from your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I was wondering if you could share a video of you cooking with KHAL
Yeah the dough is too dense, it needed more time to rest.
Too much yeast in Gordon’s focaccia!!
my aunt makes better focaccia then this, the only thing she has in terms of credentials is being italian
I’m not a chef or a baker. But I’ve seen enough focaccia videos. Both the Bari version and the Reccho version. It’s supposed to be a very hydrated dough. Even more so than a pizza dough. Gordon may have worked as a baker. But he didn’t make focaccia during that time.
9:50 it looks too heavy on the inside. I’m betting it’s the yeast. It should be lighter airier.
Vincenzo, I love your channel. I go to Italy at least once a year ( 6-8 h drive). We often use the slow food guide (Osterie di Italia) to find new places for food, oil, cheese or salumi. We actually plan our trips accordingly.
Italien food stands for passion and for using „simple“ ingredients to make the perfect dish. Watching your vids, with the passion you have for the food, is always mouthwatering. I always get the urge to either go to a good Italian restaurant or cook something Italian as quickly a possible😂.
Thank You!
Gordon Ramsey is exactly the opposite. I don‘t know if he still has the passion for cooking or if he has simply mutated into „its all about the business“ But not really important what he does… we have Vincenzo and the Pasta Grannies 😉
Never stop Tim to react Gordon’s videos. Its always funny
Reaction videos are overdone. One guy does it, blows up, and now everyone does the same. Where’s the creativity?!
I've always thought Gordon was too full of his self. He ruins more recipes, than most chefs.
Vincenzo- I live here in Texas and I LOVE Italian food. Real Italian food and I have to say that your marinara recipe is phenomenal! Minimal ingredients and the rock salt makes it perfect! I make this weekly and everyone LOVES IT! I have not bought store brand sauce since. THANK YOU! Italy is on my bucket list 😊😅
You can see 100 percent it’s to dense and raw it’s not correct
