Visiting The Breathtaking Sights in Monferrato Italy with Stevie Kim



In this On The Road Special Edition, Stevie Kim is back in the Monferrato region in the southeast corner of Piedmont.

This is Day 3 of a deep dive into this captivating wine region in northwestern Italy.

First up, Stevie sits down with Nino Falcone, the winemaker at the Montalbera winery where the focus is on the native Ruchè variety. Stevie tastes three of the winery’s signature wines, Laccento, Il Fondatore and Lequilibrio.

Next, Stevie heads to the Ferraris Agricola winery where she meets the owner Luca Ferraris who has dedicated his life to cultivating and promoting Ruchè. Stevie visits the museum dedicated to this native grape variety and learns about the winery’s five signature wines.

Stevie then visits Mariuccia Borio, owner of Cascina Castlet winery, where she samples three of the winery’s signature wines, the Barbera della Vespa, Passum and the unique Uceline.

Next stop on the itinerary is the Mura Mura winery where Stevie chats with Guido Martinetti who explains the philosophy behind the winery and presents three of the winery’s signature wines – Romeo, Miolera and Garibaldi

Finally, Stevie sits down with Vitaliano Maccario, president of “Il Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato”, who shares some advice for visitors coming to the region.
