so next thing I want to tell you and this is a little small thing you might not notice but in Italy it’s a big way to tell if this is a tourist restaurant or not if there’s salt and pepper on the table already when you sit down that means it’s a tourist restaurant because Italians respect the chef and think the chef will be the one that decides what the food should taste like so they don’t actually have salt and pepper already on the table now they’ll be a salt and pepper in a restaurant of course but it won’t be on the table so if you see that be oh that’s a tourist restaurant right there

Pretty sure we have salt and pepper because the restaurant leaves it to use to season our food to our liking especially if its a chain restaurant I find it annoying and I prefer my food to be seasoned already but its very common in the states especially the south. Not every place does it obviously but its common enough
