Ditalini Pasta with Bacon and Peas

✨RECIPE👇

Have you noticed that ditalini pasta is having its moment? Such a fun shape to play with! So small it’s easy to use in one pan meals as it cooks very fast while absorbing the liquids. This bacon, lemon and peas ditalini dish came together in 30 min and has been on repeat at our house the last few weeks.

✨Ingredients
1 pkg ditalini pasta
4-5 bacon strips
2 garlic cloves
Zest and juice from one lemon
2 cups frozen peas
2 tsp crème fraiche
Chicken broth (about 3/4 of a carton)
Parmesan for garnish

1️⃣ Chop up the bacon and garlic.

2️⃣ Cook the bacon (no oil needed) on a frying pan stirring often until browned. Add the garlic and cook for 30 sec. Add the peas and cook for another minute or so. Add the pasta and enough chicken broth to cover it. Throw in the lemon zest and juice, season with salt and pepper, cover and let simmer until the liquids are absorbed and the pasta is fully cooked. Check and stir periodically and if the liquids are gone but the pasta still feels firm add another splash of broth and let it cook for a few more minutes.

3️⃣ Stir in the crème fraiche, plate and sprinkle with freshly shredded Parmesan.

Enjoy!

  1. If this is going to be saved at all…. You have to cook the bacon longer you have to brown it at the very least

  2. That pan she uses is ABSOLUTELY garbage!! Cannot recommend due to uneven heating and poor insulating properties. Its called an Always Pan becuase it ALWAYS stays in the cabinet and collects dust. Waste of $160, that's for sure.
