The cocktail sauce is a very delicate sauce, it’s mostly served with fish and crustaceans and it’s the main ingredient of the famous shrimp cocktail
***
Hi everyone and welcome to the GialloZafferano kitchen, today we’ll be preparing together the cocktail sauce, a delicate and refined sauce, mostly used to season fish and in particular crustaceans, which is the protagonist of the shrimp cocktail recipe! Let’s see together what ingredients we’ll need:
• 7 oz (200 g) of mayonnaise (thick is better)
• ½ shot of cognac or brandy
• 2 tbsp (30 g) of sweet mustard • 1/3 cup (80 g) of ketchup sauce
• 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
• ¼ cup (60 ml) of single cream
Let’s make together the cocktail sauce!
Begin to prepare the cocktail sauce by putting the mayonnaise in a rather large bowl. Mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup should be quite firm, because, even after adding the liquid ingredients, the sauce should come out nice and thick. So, take a quite thick mayonnaise and add the mustard… the ketchup… the cognac… and the Worcestershire sauce. Mix well to blend everything.
With the help of a mixer, whisk the cream until semi-whipped, then add it to the rest of the ingredients. All you have to do now is blend everything well and place in the fridge to set for at least an hour.
Our cocktail sauce is ready to be used. As we said before, it’s perfect to accompany fish and especially crustaceans, from Sonia and GialloZafferano, bye bue and see you next videorecipe
