What is up guys? Bonjour! This is Julien, the Frenchman who makes french pronunciation videos here on YouTube, yes pronunciation videos. And we are looking at how to pronounce the name of those delicious cookies originally from France. Or maybe it was from Italy. I believe they were first invented by the Italian chef of Queen Catherine De Medici, in Italy then, but the name definitely sounds French and comes from French. So how do you go about pronouncing those? Of course in American or in English you would call those French macaroons, french macaroons. But the typical French pronunciation if you want to sound a little more classy, a little more knowledgeable about your cuisine and your confectionery, your patisserie, you would have to say MACARON. Macaron for the typical French pronunciation. If you cannot pronounce the French R, it would be ok to say macaron. Macarons. Do not insist on the N too much at the end. Do not say MacaroNN, but rather Macaron. Or again in French: Macaron. ‘Les delicieux Macarons’, the delicious macarons. Fantastic pastry. Here are many more French foods and cooking terms that you may want to check out next. I’ll leave you to it, and I will see you soon in the wonderful world of french produce and french ingredients. Bye bye…
