Syracuse Sicily, Italy Food and Wine Tour

Today we toured Syracuse Sicily and have a wonderful food tour. We sampled wine and local cuisine at three different locations, and it was GREAT. We used a local guide, Giuseppe, and he did an outstanding job. We try local fish, charcutier, and wine at every stop. We also had what must be the world’s best cannoli! Hope you enjoy touring along with us in Syracuse Sicily.

  1. Loved Syracuse! Food is wonderful! Cannoli is best when not prefilled, which is how we usually found it in Italy. Do try to go back and spend a week on the east coast of Sicily!

  2. When I went on my solo 6-month world trip, I took 2 different credit cards and 2 ATM cards. I kept one of each in two different places so that even if a pickpocket got me, I could still continue to travel. I have a great travel cross-body bag that I hold in front of me to reduce the risk (it's got metal mesh inside so that the bottom can't be slit, too. Hard to believe, but the thieves really do that!)

  3. Enjoy your videos very much. Funny to know that you're back Home again and we can still watch your excursions!
BTW where did you live in Germany? I am from Germany, thats why!

  4. Why hasnt anybody invented pants with a pocket on the inside of your pants? You could keep your identification, credit card, and the bulk of your money in there.

  5. Taromina and in fact all of Sicily is worth a week stay. Some of the Ancient Greek ruins are more amazing than those in Greece.

  6. I’m glad you talked about traveling and securing money, IDs, credit cards, etc. this is great information, especially for folks who might not have thought about it. My husband and I use PacSafe items, (crossbody bag for me, and back pack for him,) and his money belt. It’s important to share this information.

  7. Americans should never travel to Italy/Sicily…..Theives and pickpockets everywhere……Don't get off the boat…….

  8. Stationed in Sicily 1990-1991 closed down Comiso Air Station. Loved my time there and have returned several times on cruise ship stops. Lots of history on the island and great food.
